FPAC Meeting To Include Holiday Party,  Announcement of New Library And Presentation by the County on the

Deferral Ordinance.

      All residents of Finksburg and its environs are invited

What:     To attend the Finksburg Planning Area Council general membership meeting

When:      Thursday December 18th at 7 p.m.

Where:    Sandy Mount United Methodist Church

Library Coming To Finksburg:

Finksburg will be the new home for a library branch and the Carroll County Library headquarters. Linda Mielke, president of the library board is expected to attend and discuss the details of this major project.

Holiday Party:

FPAC is holding its annual holiday party at the next meeting.  Cookies and drinks will be provided but if members want to bring something to share with everyone they are more than welcome.

Deferral Presentation:

A county spokesperson is expected to update our members about the deferral program.  There have been some recent court rulings which have gone against the county. 

Welcome New Business:

The Finksburg Pharmacy has been open several months and Dixie Leikach from the pharmacy in the Tower Shopping Center will be at our meeting to provide exciting news on the new venture.

Kudos To Kowalskis:

A big thank you goes out to Matt Kowalski and his wife for their hard work for FPAC.  Matt helped out in a huge way during the last trash pickup.  Matt was also the winner of our Subway coupon giveaway.  Thanks again to the Kowalskis and have a great holiday!

Scorecard Update:

The results from the County Commissioners ' scorecard will be tabulated at our next board meeting and the results will be presented to our members at the January 22nd meeting.  Thanks to those who filled one out.

Corridor Plan:

We want to thank everyone who attended the November meeting to hear the county's presentation on the tentative Finksburg Corridor plan.  The draft plan has been made public and our board will meet in the coming weeks to go over the plan, make recommendations and present it to the general membership next month for the county's consideration.

ü       Mark Your Calendar: General Council meetings are the 4th Thursday of the month at the Sandy Mount United Methodist Church . Meetings begin at 7 PM. Board meetings are usually held on the 1st Wednesday of each month. 

Yearly Membership Fee: $10 per Household, $25 per business

Dues: You can now pay your 2004 dues. The organization uses money from dues to pay for the printing and mailing costs of this newsletter and other mailings.
